One of COOIT's most prominent functions: designated teams collect data from across India to release Advance Estimates of oilseed crops for both Rabi and Kharif, reviewed and updated through the season, along with the country's total edible oil availability.

These numbers anchor decisions across the value chain, from mandi to ministry, and are released at COOIT's flagship seminars each year.

Apex organisation of India's vegetable oil & oilseeds sector

Formed under the Companies Act, 1913 on 17th October 1951 and incorporated on 1st October 1952, COOIT has represented the entire vegetable oil economy for over seven decades: oil milling, refining, vanaspati, solvent extraction, soaps, export-import trade, export promotion bodies and futures exchanges.

A leading organisation in Government policy making.
